My wife and I owned an Outwell tent for some years but as we got older (I'm 75 my wife is 70) we found it was becoming more difficult to carry and erect. While looking around for a replacement we came across a Kampa Brean 4 Air. It's a lot easier to pitch and pack away compared to the other one. The first outing with the tent it rained and the tent leaked and water collected where the the left and right front air tubes touched the floor, but since then the tent has been ok, I'm told that this can happen with new tents. We find that it's ideal for the two of us also it's tall enough to stand up in. There are just two things we miss, the zip around the door doesn't close across the bottom, two if the vent above the window is left open, when it rains water runs down the inside. Other than that we think it's great.

Sold a Hayling 4 and bought the Brean 4 Air as an easier to pitch option - neither of us are getting any younger!

Very easy and quick to put up and pack away with plenty of space in the bag. An excellent tent with ample room for two people especially as we use a separate tarp as a cooking shelter. Ventilation is good and we have experienced little condensation. Weather proofing has also proved to be good, as has the tents ability to stand up to strong winds. The original wire pegs were (not unexpectedly!) poor and have been replaced with our own selection of plastic, rock and delta pegs which means we can usually cope with most conditions. Our only criticism would be the lack of a zip or velcro closure between the bottom of the door and the groundsheet flap.

The inner zip on one of the air tubes failed while on holiday but amazingly the inner tube didn't burst and was contained within the tent casing. Temporary repair effected with gaffer tape and on return home from France the complete tube was replaced by Kampa, despite the tent being out of Guarantee. Full marks to them and Winfields.

We have had this tent for several years now and are very pleased with it. We have used it for short trips in the UK and for longer trips in Europe and it has stood up to some pretty bad weather.

On the whole it has stayed pretty waterproof - we have had the odd problem with condensation when it has been quite cold outside but not too bad considering. It has stood up to plenty of rainshowers and has only ever leaked on us once when it was subjected to 2 solid days of torrential rain in Slovenia. Even then it was just the odd drip and some of it was condensation as it was also really cold. It dried out just fine though once it stopped raining.

We find it just the right size for 2 of us. The bedroom pod area is a good size for 2 plus bags etc. The main sitting area is spacious and more than enough space for 2 chairs plus table, cool box etc although you need to be quite tidy. We use electric for cooking so appreciate the openings on both sides for the hook up. The little canopy is also good as it shields the front of the tent a bit in poor weather. We find ventilation quite good on the whole with only minor issues with condensation.

We have had intermittent problems with one of the air beams deflating. Sometimes it will go several days and be fine and at other times it will randomly deflate - not completely but enough to make the tent sag in the middle (it is the central one). We just keep the pump handy and pump it up again. It has never gone completely down so is just a minor inconvenience.

It is really easy to put up - my husband can do it by himself which leaves me free to set up the inside - we can have it up and ready in less than 30 minutes. It also packs away easily - it always goes back in the bag without a problem. This is perfect for us as we use it for touring camping so are moving site every 2-3 days.

Overall, we are very pleased with it and I would recommend it.

I bought my tent earlier this year, the first time I used it in Wales and the weather was really hot and sunny so had a lovely time.

The second trip out for it was in Ravenstonedale and the weather was pretty dire. Very very windy, which the tent stood up to but the rain started and it poured down. The tent leaked very badly and big puddles appeared at the bottom of all the tubes so there was a lot of mopping up to do. Another thing against it was the front door is open across the bottom, guess I'm used to Outwell tents and have been spoiled by them having the inner mesh that zips all the way round. It would have been better with maybe velcro across the bottom.

I also found it rather dark inside, probably because of the side door having to be kept closed because of the bad weather, so only having one side window.

All in all I was rather disappointed with my first Air tent, looks like I'm going to have to proof it before it goes out again. I've had tents in the past which have lasted years and never needed waterproofing.

I absolutely love this tent.It is so cozy, yet spacious. We were going to use it as a weekend tent, but I think we will be using it for longer trips too. It took my partner approx. 15 minutes to pitch it by himself, whilst I was helping my daughter pitch her tent. One minute it was laid out on the ground, the next it was pitched perfectly. Amazing. We had strong winds and heavy rain,on one of our trips,but she withstood all of this with ease. Love, love, love this little beauty.

I fully agree with the comments made by Christine.

We have been camping since the early 1960`s using ex Army tents , frame tents, trailer tents and a huge Khyam which is still in use. We were finding our Orchy 500 a bit difficult to pitch and having looked for something easier we decided on this excellent inflatable.

Our first outing was to a 4 day music festival and in typical conditions we pitched in blustery wind and experienced thunder, lightning and a torrential downpour.

The tent coped with everything the weather threw at it, nice and cosy inside during a very cold night for early June and plenty of ventilation when the sun did shine.

We now feel we have added years to our camping lives

This tent has everything on our list of requirements. It is relatively small, perfect for two of us, and has enough height for us to stand up. When we put up the tent for the first time we were delighted at how easy it was. Simply peg out the corners, inflate the three remarkably sturdy tubes and peg out the guy ropes. It took us 20 minutes but I'm sure we can put it up in 15 with practice. The tent can easily be erected and taken down by one person. The hand pump is easy to use and comes with a pressure gauge. The inner tent comes pre-attached (but is easily removable) and has 4 tensioning straps and a divider which zips into place to make two sleeping compartments, or can be rolled up and tied out of the way to make one large compartment.

The tent stood up well to everything the Welsh weather could throw at it, including heavy rain and strong gusting wind. The canopy over the front of the tent was effective in shielding the door from the rain and providing some shade to sit under. The living area has three large windows and a side door with a mesh screen, making it very light and airy. There are two more mesh panels, over the door and the side window, as well as one at the back of the tent.

What we liked most:

Ample ventilation and windows.

Pockets for folding away the window covers and inner tent doors.

The groundsheet can be pegged flat in the doorway, removing the trip hazard.

Electric entry points on both sides of the tent and Velcro cable ties leading to a central hook for a lantern.

Lots of storage pockets.

The heavy duty groundsheet and the 6000mm hydrostatic head

The integral door canopy.

Minor niggles:

The pegs supplied with the tent are all plastic and could not cope with the very stony ground on our site. Fortunately we always carry metal pegs, including storm pegs.

One of the air tubes deflated slowly over a few hours. We established that this was due to a faulty valve and cured the problem by replacing it with the spare valve supplied with the tent.
